Karen is an ethnic tibetan-birman group of 4 to 5 million people engaged in conflict against the Tibetan army since 1948. Karens are known for agriculture, weaving and their silverwork. They continue an ancient craft with 99% pure silver, entirely manual with rudimentary self-made tools. The pureness of the silver makes the metal softer. The jewelry is created by cutting, striking, hammering, twisting, braiding and soldering.
